New Local Charity Nominated
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
We’ve pledged to raise £10,000 & need your help.
Since re-opening in November 2015 after a total transformation we have been delighted to be a part of a growing community spirit in the Lindford area. We have you lot to thank for this and it got us thinking. How can we give back to the community who have helped us so much?
Some of you may remember back when we launched, we asked you to nominate a charity which we should support through a variety of initiatives in the pub. We are thrilled to announce that we are now raising funds for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) and we are looking forward to doing some great work moving forwards.
As part of our commitment to HIOWAA we will donate 20p from every pint of Red Mist Ale poured here at The Royal Exchange and urge you to donate any small change in the charity pots on the bar.
We also have our networking event for local businesses. The Bordon Business Exchange is a free event with complimentary coffee and breakfast sandwiches, however we do suggest a donation in favor of HIOWAA. After all, it is thanks to the generosity of the local communities of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, that the Air Ambulance is able to continue to save lives.
In addition to the Bordon Business Exchange and Red Mist Ale donation, we will be running a number of fundraising events in the forthcoming months to help raise awareness, support and raise loads of cash for HIOWAA.
The charity’s core purpose is to bring immediate, life saving critical care to patients when they need it most. The Air Ambulance flies 365 days a year, both day and night, providing an efficient, prompt response to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents throughout Hampshire and the Isle Of Wight. the highly skilled crew of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes, ready to deliver the same level of care you would expect from a hospital emergency department. With no funding from the Government or the National Lottery, the operation is maintained by the generosity of the communities that it serves. We have pledged to raise £10,000 in three years and we intend on surpassing this figure with your generous help!
HIOWAA have run a fantastic service since beginning operations in 2007 and undergoes 730 missions annually, many of them life-saving. We want to help keep this great cause alive so please enjoy a pint of Red Mist Ale and feel good knowing that every sip is going towards a noble and community driven cause.
Again, thank you for all the warm feedback and comments given. We aim to serve you as best we can and are grateful for the support in our early months.
