Opening in July 2018…. our newest arrival to the family

For those of you who are avid and loyal supporters of our Red Mist pubs, you will know that, aside from delivering outstanding food, drink and customer service in enjoyable pub surrounds, Red Mist Leisure is perhaps also best known for purchasing dilapidated pubs, often deemed unviable by their previous owners; refurbishing and relaunching them as thriving local pubs to become an essential hub of the community.

2018 is proving to be yet another busy year for the business as it sees the addition of two new pubs for Red Mist Leisure.  The purchase of The Temple Inn, Liss Forest was finally confirmed in March 2018. After a long battle to complete the purchase and with the support and patience of the local residents of Liss Forest, including the unwavering support of all those who formed the SOTI (Save Our Temple Inn) group, Red Mist Leisure will be treating The Temple to a £300,000 + refurbishment, which will open to the public on Wednesday 11th July 2018.  Previously, a Fuller’s pub, the team are eager and ready to work their magic on our latest purchase, which will become our closest neighbouring Red Mist pub.

As we all know, behind every successful pub, there is a great Pub Manager, keeping the cogs turning and ensuring the enjoyment and satisfaction of both customers and staff. So we’re pleased to ‘introduce’ you to the Pub Manager of The Temple Inn, Nathaniel Thatcher (better known as Nat).  Nat has been part of the team at Red Mist Leisure for over 5 years, helping to manage our sister pubs and being an essential team member in the day to day running of them; many of you will recognise him from his time at The Duke, The Wheatsheaf and, more recently, The Red Lion.

Nat wouldn’t be able to make a success of the pub without the incredible talents of his Head Chef, Dale, who will lead and manage the kitchen team in preparing the freshest, tastiest classic dishes using as many local, seasonal ingredients as possible. Dale has been part of the Red Mist Family for almost 6 years (less a 9 month travelling sabbatical!) and was an original member of staff from when the purchase of The Duke was made back in May 2006, working his way up the kitchen ranks and will be leaving The Duke to start his new post over the coming weeks. Please do wish these guys the utmost luck in starting a new chapter in their own careers, as they prepare to open this beautiful village pub. We do hope you will come on over at some point soon to say hi and check out the new sister on the block, it is only 6 miles down the road after all (guide 15 minutes by car)!

Hot on the heels of The Temple, the Red Mist Leisure team are also busy working on opening their tenth pub, The Wellington Arms, Stratfield Turgis. Located on the Wellington Country Estate, near Basingstoke, this will be RML’s biggest project to date. Another dilapidated pub, previously owned by Hall & Woodhouse offering space for over 170 covers in the bar & restaurant, 27 hotel bedrooms and a large function room to host weddings, parties and corporate events, we can’t wait to get this beauty open.  The project is already underway (as we work around Bat Conservation restrictions) and is tentatively scheduled to open in November/ December of this year…. so keep watching this space!

Why not buy gift vouchers for your nearest and dearest to enjoy the greatest food and drink experience (or an overnight stay at our selected inns), available to use at any of our Red Mist pubs. For more information, click here:
